Tobacco use makes employees sicker, leading to more days out and higher health care costs. Those extra costs in an already challenging labor market could push some Maine businesses to the breaking point.
Acting now to reduce youth tobacco use will help prevent additional health care costs down the line once young people enter the workforce. That's why we support solutions like ending the sale of flavored tobacco products that lure kids into becoming life-long tobacco users.
